Sketchy Days

Fashion is the basis for all of my sketches. I position the figures in a way that represents fashion photography. I grew up with fashion magazines around the house  and would later try sewing outfits for dolls that resembled those images. As I sketch from day to day, I relied on the feed back of my family who always told me, “not everyone looks the same, so don’t become discouraged if not every person  you draw does NOT look identical”. It was a great lesson to learn and has influenced my work heavily.

Stretching & Sketching. I may not be the most active person but the figures in my sketches are. They represent the motion of human forms and their most exaggerated.

Shadowing is my favorite detail when I'm sketching. It's can be tricky to bring life to a 2D image but shadowing can take your work futher.

Elongated forms add a touch of fantasy to my work.

"Bonded Poser", acrylic and pencil on canvas. I mix mediums when I work but only to make the image stronger. This is the painting interpretation of the sketch from the above photo. Note her harsh lines which brings more depth to the painting.
