Inspiration- Museums

As a former Dallas Museum of Art gallery attendant, I utilized every moment to observe all the details of great masterpieces. In a series I entitled, “My Take on Classics”, I turned reknown works of art into the human form. Here a few of my favorites.

I created this piece after studying the Franz Kline abstract work entitled, "Slated Cross". I interpretted the lines as bodily forms engaging.

"Tree Trunks in the Snow" by artist Georgia O'keeffe was the inspirations for my painting "G.O.K". The intertwining of the roots and limbs of the trees are represented by the extended arms and legs of the human forms.

M.L. is my interpretation of a 1960 Morris Louis piece entitled, "Delta Kappa". While his work brilliantly displays one of a kind colours flowing down the wall sized canvas, I used the human body to flow curvaciously along the five foot canvas.
